Hmm, a little odd for me that Fatty is losing to poison of all things, why? Because his Martial Soul is a Phoenix, and with his Phoenix Fire, he should be fully capable of purging and purifying all sorts of things, and his own body should be no exception to that.

That doesnt surprise me, since in the novel it was only one long sentence, with nothing explained except, they won So the animators would have no idea how the fight was, bear in mind Ma Hongjun isnt immune to poison, remember Tang San's spider bones? He is still susceptible to the poison

Actually I don't mind how they added this bit. It would be a little unfair if they show Mubai and Oscar's fight and not the others which is why it felt a little strange when I was reading the novel. The author wrote so detailed about how TS shrewdly helped Mubai but mentioned nothing about Fatty and ZZQ.

While I love seeing TS struts his stuffs, I also would like to see a team worthy of the legendary Shrek Monster.

Oh definitely, they should show more, at least it will show more character development, rather than one line "The Sea Ghost Doulou would give Fatty some trouble however Ma Hongjun while assisted by Ning Rongrong won" (something like that) Huh?? We all know but how?
But let's not forget, authors tends to forget about other party members, they get caught up with details of the main character, then decides oh let's do character 3. then continues to finish the chapter but then realises oh there are other members as well, so let's sneak a one liner here, problem solved, chapter published, money comes in lol

For those interested, the author of Soul Land announced that the studio making Soul Land donghua is currently developing the sequel to Soul Land, Soul Land 2: The Unrivaled Tang Sect

why would they make the sequel already if the og series is still ongoing? waste of resources no?

While I cannot answer for the studio, I can only guess with what I read on forums and infer what information is shown on their official streaming site

1. Soul Land has about at least a year to at most two years to go before ending, however, the next arc can be easily shortened as many contents can be removed. On Tencent streaming site, the number of episodes allocated is 250, we are at 191 at the moment, it can mean anything, my guess is that the series will end at the 250th episodes, which is around a year later
2. Soul Land 2 is still undergoing development, characters, monsters and environmental designs do take up a lot of time, the sooner they are completed the smoother and faster they can start producing/rendering the donghua, even though it is the same world, but there are a lot of differences from the world of Soul Land and Soul Land 2 (There is no magic, no fighting spirit, no martial arts, but there is martial spirit)
It will also mean less problems will be encountered when the series is actually live
3. The studio at the moment has only the Soul Land series going, I guess they want to either prepare for Soul Land 2, or have a concurrent project

I am not sure if they will air them at the same time, time will only tell, at the moment the only information is the author streaming on Tencent's Soul Land's official page announcing Soul Land 2, but once I find out more I will be posting on the current Soul Land weekly episode page

Even though forums are saying it is about to end, but no one has the exact time so we have to take it with a pinch of salt, what is known is on the tencent streaming site, Soul Land goes up to 250 episodes, 192 - 250 is inaccessible

Yes but it isnt actually Yu Rumeng's someone took an artist called Da Congjun's picture and placed it onto Martial Peak's fandom, the name of the picture is called 藏剑, Cang Jian (Hidden Sword)
His art is pretty good, if you go to Artstation and search for Da Congjun you should be able find more pics, they even used a pic for Zhang Ruoxi (Yeah I am spelling the Chinese name that way cause for some weird reason MP's translators dont know a single thing about Chinese name conventions)

LOL!! Asura God and Sea God are truly two comedic duo! My bias will always be Asura God which is why I couldn't stand DD4. If anyone says TS is OP in DD, they should read DD4. This whole Dragon God, the Law Enforcer of the Universe is just too much for me. Having said that, I still have to give the due credit to TJSS. His whole DD world building is really quite amazing and distinctive if you can ignore his incoherence and at times tedious storytelling.

I've now given up Chinese dramas, instead I found Chinese donghuas more appealing. The cost and time duration constraint on each episode certainly push the production team to the very limit. Some falter but some flourish, and the end result for the latter is some decently good animation and production.

What other donghuas are you watching at the moment? I ended up paying for WeTV in order to watch DD every week due to the atrocious subs from gogo and other anime providers. But recently I noticed, Gogo has been using the same subs as WeTV, either they have an agreement or they are blatantly stealing the subs. Btw, I found Bilibili produces quite some good donghuas which are worth paying for.

lol like most novelists TSJJ also falls into the trap of making a great story and when it comes towards the ending, they kind of fall flat, most not all

We are around chapter 244, volume 35 of the novel and it is 191 episodes (for those who forgot, season 1 is 26 episodes, 26 + 165). Da Ming and Er Ming is at chapter 260, so another 16 chapters
My estimate is about another 20-22 episodes
Lowest episodes is using the volumes of the novel and highest is using chapters

Also if using the same ratio of episodes per volume and episodes per chapter, it will take at least 62 episodes and at most 117 episodes for the Soul Land to finish
So another 2 years left of Soul Land but this might all change if they decide to add fillers or to remove certain contents (like Oscar's vulgar seventh ability), but we should still have a least a year of Soul Land

Yeah I read Shenyi Jiu Xiaojie, and been following the donghua, I liked it, of course there are certain aspects that I dont like but that is with all donghuas and novels, some parts you like some parts you dont lol
When I read it I was like did Xiao Wu transmigrated to that donghua lol
but instead of a rabbit she is actually a mythical white tiger, thought to be extinct in the entire universe

I saw sneak peaks of it when browsing the youtube videos as I was checking around for my daily donghua/animes to watch but never really watched it properly till yesterday. I like her outfit, the purple/white colours go well together. I did have a twisted somewhat amusing thought about one of the scenes. The scene where the guy could smell blood in the air when he entered her room as she was taking a medical bath made me wonder if their noses are so good at smelling blood in the air, they must know when women are having their tom's. It's a cringey thought I know but it does make you wonder.

if you are referring to the guy who she saves in episode 2 and is chasing her well he is a dragon afterall his cultivation level is the highest in the lower realm, in fact the highest in all three realms (lower, middle and upper) until you get to the God realm even then gods fear him but I think that part was when she just killed a some people, and so she had the scent of blood on her as well as the killing aura, which sometimes uses the words blood aura (translators sometimes takes it too literal) lol

Isn't Tang San too Over Powerful? It seems like no one in this anime can touch him or out smart him. The Author did a good job developing him but I don't think I've seen him make a mistake once, he's too untouchable from what I see.

On another note, in all the team battles so far, Tang San continues to carry his team again again and again, while they make mistakes. I wish the Author would develop them more and show why they are capable of being the strongest in douluo dalu continent after tang san, but nothing. Leaves a bad taste after a while...

i mean this is chinese anime, a lot of them are like that, and he swore to be as powerful as his father to help and protect xiao wu and lead his clan, he did many mistakes in the past especially the one with xiaowu's death but hes really a full grown monster with 3 red rings at level 80+ ngl. You can read the novel if you wanna know more since its already done and the anime is still ongoing.

him carrying the team is pretty common since he has gone thru many stages of the douluo dalu and could rmb some stuff from his previous life if you dont know, plus he has 2 soul skills and his fate is like his dad if you dont know that. From the day the team met him, hes always the one developing the quickest, tbh the fact hes really overpowered now could be due to xiaowu's sacrifice as well if you think about it...

No you are right, 90% of cultivation webnovels and novels are like that, but at least Soul Land doesnt forget about the friends along the way, most just have the main character OP and leave their friends behind eating dirt, Tang San's friends are at least not that far from his level lol
And yes, it is cause of Xiao Wu's sacrifice (ring, soul and her soul bone) that he is strong, wouldnt make sense if he possesses so many of these things and he is at the same level as his friends

I agree with you, and thank you for agreeing with me, animes like this would focus more of the main character coz its the main character of course, and yes his friends are not too far from him, their leader, dai mubai is also lvl 80 and the rest are high 70s so yes, Xiao Wu's sacrifice made him so much stronger then anyone rn except for some like from the martial arts kingdom? idk but if he finishes this training arc he could be a douluo alr, i just wanna see what will happen :D
